Beagle Boys #27

Beagle Boys #27, published in 1974 by Gold Key Comics, is part of a long-running series featuring the iconic antagonists of the Scrooge McDuck universe. Created originally by Carl Barks, the Beagle Boys served as recurring obstacles for the Duck family, and this series allowed them to step into the spotlight as protagonists of their own bumbling criminal escapades. During the 1970s, Gold Key maintained a steady output of Disney-licensed comic books that captured a specific, nostalgic mid-century aesthetic.

The issue features artwork consistent with the Gold Key house style of the era, which emphasized clear, accessible panels and expressive character designs that remained faithful to the established Disney animation look. These comics were marketed primarily toward children and young readers, and they are now primarily valued by collectors for their role in preserving the mid-twentieth-century comic book culture and the expansion of the Duck universe beyond the core Carl Barks stories.
