Betty and Veronica #198

Betty and Veronica issue 198, published in 1973 by Archie Comics, represents the long-standing tradition of the digest-sized and standard comic format that defined the publisher's output throughout the 1970s. During this era, the creative direction remained firmly rooted in the lighthearted, suburban teen dynamics established by Bob Montana, focusing on the enduring love triangle involving Archie Andrews and his two primary romantic interests.

The interior art and writing for this period were often handled by the established house style, which prioritized consistency and accessibility for younger readers. These issues were designed to be disposable entertainment, providing a reliable blend of humor and adolescent melodrama that sustained the series' popularity. While specific individual issue creators were frequently uncredited or part of the larger Archie creative bullpen, the work is recognized as a quintessential example of the mid-century American teen comic aesthetic.
