Betty and Veronica #47

Betty and Veronica #47 was published by Archie Comics during the late 1950s, a period when the publisher was solidifying its dominance in the teen humor genre. The series focused on the recurring romantic and social rivalry between the two title characters for the attention of Archie Andrews, reflecting mid-century American suburban tropes. Like many issues of the era, it followed a standardized format of short, episodic gag strips designed to appeal to adolescent readers through lighthearted situational comedy.

The visual identity of this issue relies on the quintessential house style of Archie Comics, characterized by clean lines and expressive character designs that remained remarkably consistent for decades. These issues were typically produced by a rotation of uncredited staff artists and writers who adhered to strict editorial guidelines to ensure the characters remained recognizable. While the series was not intended as high art, it is historically significant for its role in shaping teen archetypes in popular media throughout the post-war era.
