Where it came from
Birds of Prey #3 was published in 1999 as part of the ongoing monthly series written by Chuck Dixon. This specific issue features the dynamic pairing of Oracle and Black Canary, a central theme of the series that revitalized these characters within the DC Universe by focusing on espionage and tactical operations rather than traditional superhero tropes.
The interior artwork for this issue was primarily handled by Greg Land, whose illustrative style during this period contributed significantly to the series' sleek, grounded aesthetic. The cover art, by Gary Frank, captures the tactical tension characteristic of the title, which was well-received by readers for its strong character-driven narrative and the unique partnership between Barbara Gordon and Dinah Lance.
