Bishop: The Last X-Man #14

Bishop: The Last X-Man #14 was published in early 2000 as part of a series intended to explore the origins and dystopian future of Lucas Bishop, a popular character introduced during the X-Men’s early 1990s expansion. The series followed Bishop’s displacement in a timeline where his home era had been decimated, attempting to provide a more grounded, character-focused narrative following the heavy ensemble-based storytelling that characterized the mutant titles of that decade.

The issue features cover art and interior contributions typical of the period's house style, characterized by a transition from the bold, maximalist aesthetics of the 1990s toward the more grounded, cinematic approaches of the turn of the millennium. Created by writers John Ostrander and Terry Kavanagh with pencils by artists like Georges Jeanty, the series as a whole struggled to find consistent footing with readers, leading to its eventual conclusion shortly after this issue, marking the end of a specific creative era for the character.
