Booster Gold #15

Booster Gold #15 was published in 1987 as part of the initial run of the character's solo series, which debuted in 1986. Created by Dan Jurgens, Booster Gold was designed as a satirical take on the commercialization of superheroes, depicting a time-traveler from the 25th century who uses future knowledge to stage heroic stunts and secure corporate sponsorships in the modern day. This specific issue features art by Dan Jurgens and inks by Mike DeCarlo, capturing the series' unique blend of lighthearted corporate commentary and traditional superhero drama.

The narrative of issue #15 contributes to the broader character development of Michael Jon Carter as he struggles to balance his superficial public persona with genuine heroism. During this period of DC Comics history, the title was noted for its attempt to integrate a protagonist driven by greed and fame into a universe typically defined by altruism. While the series eventually ended, Booster Gold’s design and concept proved durable, leading to his later integration into major storylines and the Justice League International, cementing the importance of these early issues in establishing his complex, often self-serving, but ultimately redeemable personality.
