Captain America Annual #7

Captain America Annual #7, published by Marvel Comics in 1983, serves as a standalone expansion of the character's narrative universe. These annuals were traditionally crafted to offer readers self-contained stories that allowed creators to explore themes or team-ups outside the constraints of the ongoing monthly series. This specific issue was written by Peter B. Gillis and illustrated by Brian Postman, reflecting the aesthetic standards of Marvel's early 1980s era, characterized by dynamic action-oriented panels and a focus on expanding the lore surrounding Steve Rogers.

The issue features an appearance by the iconic villain Baron Zemo, continuing the long-standing thematic rivalry between Zemo and Captain America. Designed to provide a high-stakes adventure for the Captain while maintaining the character’s established integrity, the work received typical attention for a mid-tier annual of that period. It remains a notable piece for collectors focusing on the Captain America bibliography, representing a moment in time when Marvel utilized annuals to bridge character history with fresh, episodic conflicts.
