Doku, Doku, Mori, Mori #3

Doku, Doku, Mori, Mori is a series of artist books and zine-style publications that emerged from the independent Japanese publishing scene. The series is characterized by a blend of raw, illustrative storytelling and experimental graphic design, often exploring themes of isolation, urban existence, and the quiet surrealism of daily life. Issue number 3 serves as a continuation of this aesthetic, utilizing minimal layouts and high-contrast imagery to evoke a specific emotional resonance that is hallmark to the series.

The publication was crafted to challenge traditional narrative structures, favoring visual pacing over linear text. The creators employed a combination of hand-drawn sketches and edited photography, aiming to capture the fleeting, ephemeral nature of the scenes depicted. Upon its release, the issue gained modest attention within niche zine fairs and independent bookstores, where it was noted for its tactile quality and the intentionality behind its paper choice and print production.
