E-Man #17

E-Man #17 was published by First Comics in 1985 as part of the revival of the character originally created by writer Nicola Cuti and artist Joe Staton for Charlton Comics in the 1970s. This series followed the adventures of Alec Tronn, an extraterrestrial entity composed of pure energy, as he navigated life and superheroics on Earth, often utilizing a satirical and whimsical tone that distinguished it from the more somber comic trends of the mid-eighties.

The creative team behind this era of E-Man maintained the character's legacy of subverting traditional superhero tropes through clever writing and distinct, clean-lined illustration styles. While E-Man never reached the massive cultural saturation of mainstream icons, it earned a dedicated cult following and critical appreciation for its lighthearted humor and narrative experimentation, serving as a notable example of the independent comic movement's creative output during the eighties.
