Eerie #125

Eerie #125 was published by Warren Publishing in 1981, emerging from a period when the company was experimenting with more sophisticated, mature storytelling and high-quality illustration. Part of a legendary lineage of horror anthology magazines that helped define the medium during the 1970s and early 1980s, this issue captures the tail end of the magazine's golden era, reflecting the dark, atmospheric editorial vision that Warren fostered to compete with mainstream comics.

The cover art for this issue is a striking example of the period's illustrative style, emphasizing the moody and macabre aesthetic that Warren was known for. Designed to attract readers who favored dark fantasy and psychological thrillers, the magazine featured work from a rotating group of talented artists and writers who pushed the boundaries of visual narrative. It was received as a standard but quintessential entry in the Warren horror canon, providing readers with the high-production-value gore and gothic tension they expected from the brand.
