Fantastic Four #342

Fantastic Four #342 was published by Marvel Comics in July 1990 as part of the long-running Fantastic Four series. This issue served as a pivotal moment in the 'Acts of Vengeance' era, continuing the high-stakes narrative trajectory established by writer Walt Simonson during his influential run on the title. The story focuses on the team's ongoing struggle against complex antagonists, reflecting the editorial push of the early 1990s to integrate wider crossover events into the core superhero mythos.

The cover and interior art for this period are characteristic of the transition into 1990s comic aesthetics, balancing traditional superhero dynamism with the darker, more intricate linework that defined the decade. Simonson's work on the series is widely regarded for its imaginative expansion of the Marvel cosmic landscape, and issue #342 is frequently highlighted by collectors for its commitment to the sprawling, inventive storytelling that characterized his tenure as both writer and artist.
