Fool Night #8

Fool Night, written and illustrated by Kasumi Yasuda, is a dystopian science fiction manga series serialized in Big Comic Superior. Set in a future where the sun has been obscured by thick clouds, the narrative follows a society where citizens can choose to undergo a procedure to become 'flowers' to sustain oxygen production before they succumb to death. The eighth volume continues the somber exploration of human desperation, ethics, and the atmospheric world-building that defines Yasuda’s signature visual style.

The series design is noted for its high-contrast, moody aesthetic, which mirrors the perpetual darkness of its setting. Yasuda utilizes dense, evocative linework to emphasize the isolation of the characters and the oppressive nature of the environment. Since its debut, the series has garnered critical praise for its philosophical depth and unique premise, positioning it as a significant title within the seinen manga genre for readers interested in speculative fiction.
