Gangsters and Gun Molls #2

Gangsters and Gun Molls was a short-lived true crime comic book series published by Lev Gleason Publications in the early 1950s. Like many titles of its era, it emerged from the post-war fascination with tabloid-style sensationalism and gritty noir aesthetics, aiming to capitalize on the public appetite for dramatized accounts of real-life criminals and their exploits.

The series relied on the stark, dramatic house style typical of the Lev Gleason crime line, often utilizing heavy ink work and tense, cinematic layouts to convey high-stakes danger. While it mirrored the narrative tropes of its contemporaries, it faced significant scrutiny as the industry moved toward the eventual establishment of the Comics Code Authority, which curtailed the graphic portrayals of lawlessness that defined titles like this one.
