Where it came from
Generation X #62 was published by Marvel Comics in April 2000, serving as part of the late-run narrative of the series created by Scott Lobdell and Chris Bachalo. The title focused on a group of teenage mutants navigating life at the Massachusetts Academy, standing out in the nineties X-Men lineup for its emphasis on the awkwardness of adolescence and the trauma of their superhero responsibilities.
This specific issue features writing by Jay Faerber and interior art by Terry Dodson, a notable illustrator whose fluid, dynamic style defined much of the visual identity for Marvel's youth-oriented books during this era. The narrative reflects the period's editorial shift as the creative team worked to maintain character continuity amidst the broader, often tumultuous, X-Men publishing landscape of the early 2000s.
