Gøg og Gokke #3

Gøg og Gokke, the Danish localized title for the legendary comedy duo Laurel and Hardy, became a staple of European comic publication during the mid-20th century. Issue number 3 is part of a series that adapted the physical comedy and slapstick timing of the films into a static, sequential art format. These comics were intended to capitalize on the enduring popularity of the duo’s feature films, which maintained a massive, multi-generational following across Scandinavia long after their original cinematic release.

The design of these issues heavily utilized caricature-style illustrations to capture the distinct facial expressions and movements of Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy. Artists tasked with these adaptations aimed to translate the duo's signature 'slow burn' humor into panel-based gags, often relying on exaggerated character models and simple, rhythmic storytelling. The series was well-received by younger audiences at the time, functioning as a bridge that introduced the classic comedy icons to new readers through the popular medium of serialized comic books.
