Ghost Rider #46

Ghost Rider issue 46 was published by Marvel Comics in December 1980. This period of the Ghost Rider series, starring Johnny Blaze, leaned heavily into the supernatural and occult motifs that defined the character throughout the late 1970s and early 1980s. The story arrived during a time when the series was working to maintain its identity amidst a shifting landscape of comic book trends, balancing the character's traditional motorcycle-based action with grittier, darker narratives.

The issue features cover art and interior work reflecting the creative style of that era's Marvel bullpen. The creative direction aimed to blend elements of horror and superhero spectacle, a hallmark of the Ghost Rider title since its inception. While not as frequently cited as the character's debut or the mid-90s Danny Ketch revival, this issue remains a representative example of the Bronze Age run, prized by collectors for its consistent aesthetic and the steady evolution of the Johnny Blaze character arc.
