Gohoubi Gohan #18

Gohoubi Gohan, translated as Reward Meal, is a long-running manga series by Misaki Yazawa that began serialization in 2015. The series focuses on the life of office worker Saki Ikeda, exploring the intersection of professional life and the simple, profound joy found in preparing and eating delicious meals. Issue 18 is part of the established run of tankōbon volumes released by Kodansha, which have become a staple in the gourmet manga genre for their focus on relatable characters and detailed depictions of home-cooked cuisine.

Misaki Yazawa designed the series to emphasize comfort and the therapeutic nature of cooking as a reward for a hard day's work. The aesthetic is clean and inviting, intended to make the reader feel a sense of warmth and satiation. The series has been well-received for its consistent tone and practical approach to recipes, eventually leading to a live-action television adaptation that further solidified its place in the Japanese culinary-themed manga landscape.
