The cover and interior work from this period often featured George Papp’s clean, functional illustrative style. As part of a secondary backup feature in More Fun Comics that eventually gained its own title, these early issues were primarily aimed at younger audiences. The series at this stage focused on the 'Arrowcar' and various trick arrows, elements that cemented Oliver Queen’s identity as a campy, tech-oriented hero long before his significant character reinvention in the late 1960s.
