Green Lantern #137

Green Lantern number 137 was published by DC Comics in February 1981. This issue arrived during a period when the title was navigating the complexities of the Silver Age legacy while exploring the broader cosmic scale of the DC Universe. It serves as a representative artifact of the Bronze Age of comics, a time when storytelling often balanced traditional heroics with evolving character development and expanding lore within the Green Lantern Corps.

The issue features cover art and interior work consistent with the editorial direction of the era, which emphasized the interplay between Hal Jordan's terrestrial responsibilities and his interstellar duties. The creative team aimed to maintain the title's momentum during a competitive market, relying on established character dynamics that had defined the series for years. Like many issues of this volume, it was received as a standard installment in the ongoing saga, appreciated by contemporary readers for its consistency in tone and visual style.
