Guy Gardner #4

Guy Gardner #4 was published in 1992 as part of the DC Comics ongoing series focused on the titular Green Lantern. During this period, the character was undergoing a significant transformation following the events of the Justice League International era, transitioning away from his role as a team player toward a more aggressive, anti-hero persona after losing his power ring and acquiring yellow power constructs.

The series was written by Gerard Jones and featured various artists, reflecting the gritty aesthetic prevalent in early 1990s comic book design. The title sought to capitalize on Gardner's popularity as a divisive, hot-headed figure within the DC Universe, exploring his attempts to forge a personal identity independent of the Green Lantern Corps. While the series captured a distinct tone of the decade, it remains a snapshot of a specific editorial attempt to redefine a secondary character through darker narrative arcs.
