Hachi-nantte, Sore wa Nai Deshō! #17

Hachi-nantte, Sore wa Nai Deshō!, known in English as The 8th Son? Are You Kidding Me?, originated as a serialized web novel written by Y.A. on the user-generated site Shōsetsuka ni Narō. Its transition into a light novel series, illustrated by Fuzichoco, began in 2014 under the Media Factory imprint. The series follows Shingo Ichinomiya, a man who wakes up in the body of a young noble in a fantasy world, tasked with navigating the complex socio-political landscape of his new, impoverished family.

The 17th volume serves as a continuation of the long-running light novel series, maintaining Fuzichoco’s distinctive, vibrant character designs and ornate fantasy aesthetics. As with previous entries, the narrative focuses on the protagonist's development as an administrator and mage. The series has garnered a dedicated following for its blend of isekai tropes and bureaucratic fantasy, eventually leading to a manga adaptation and an anime series that expanded its reach to a global audience.
