Henkyō no Kusushi, Miyako de S-Rank Bōkensha to Naru: Eiyū-Mura no Shōnen ga Cheat Yaku de Mujikaku Musō #12

Henkyō no Kusushi, Miyako de S-Rank Bōkensha to Naru is a Japanese light novel series written by Kaeruda Amefurashi and illustrated by Nabeshima Tetsu. The series originated as a web novel published on the user-generated site Shōsetsuka ni Narō before being acquired by Kodansha for print publication under their K Ranobe Bunko label starting in 2018. It follows the narrative of a boy from a village of heroes who moves to the capital and becomes an S-rank adventurer while remaining largely unaware of his own extraordinary abilities.

The twelfth volume serves as a continuation of the ongoing fantasy adventure, reflecting the established aesthetic of the series which leans heavily into the 'unaware powerhouse' trope common in modern light novel tropes. Nabeshima Tetsu’s character designs are central to the publication’s identity, emphasizing vibrant, high-fantasy illustrations that differentiate the physical light novel editions from the digital web novel source. The series has maintained a steady readership within the light novel community, focusing on steady character progression and lighthearted fantasy world-building.
