Henkyouhakuke Jinan ha Tensei Cheat Life wo Tanoshimitai #1

Henkyouhakuke Jinan ha Tensei Cheat Life wo Tanoshimitai, or 'The Frontier Count's Second Son Wants to Enjoy a Cheated Life Reincarnated,' is a light novel series that began its life on the Japanese user-generated fiction platform Shōsetsuka ni Narō. Following the typical trajectory for successful web serials in the isekai genre, the story gained enough popularity among readers to be acquired for formal publication by Futabasha, which began releasing the series in print under their M Novels label starting in 2017.

The physical volume one release serves as the foundational entry for the series, featuring the writing of author Sorani and illustrations by artist Ichihaya. The design and presentation follow the standard aesthetic for contemporary light novels, prioritizing character-focused cover art to attract fans of the fantasy and 'cheat ability' tropes that define the genre's current market. As an entry in a competitive field, its initial reception was driven by the existing readership of the web novel, helping to establish the series as a viable franchise for subsequent manga adaptations.
