Himitsu no Ooya-san #1

Himitsu no Ooya-san is a long-running Japanese four-panel gag manga series created by the artist Junko Kita, first serialized in Houbunsha’s Manga Time magazine. The series centers on the humorous and often surreal interactions between a landlord and her tenants, fitting squarely into the traditional Japanese 'yonkoma' format that emphasizes quick, punchy comedic setups within a consistent domestic setting.

The aesthetic of the series is characterized by Kita's clean, approachable character designs, which became a staple of the seinen magazine demographic. Upon its release, the series was received as a lighthearted contribution to the slice-of-life genre, praised for its consistency and the gentle, observational humor that defined the relationship dynamics between the central characters.
