"Hitokiri" Shoujo, Koushaku Reijou no Goei ni Naru #2

Hitokiri Shoujo, Koushaku Reijou no Goei ni Naru, or The Manslayer Girl Becomes the Duke Daughter's Bodyguard, is a light novel series written by Ennui Shiro and illustrated by Hiiro Abeno. The second volume, published by Kadokawa under their MF Books imprint, continues the narrative of a former assassin thrust into the life of an aristocratic bodyguard. The series emerged during a period of sustained popularity for the villainess and isekai subgenres, focusing on character-driven dynamics and the contrast between the protagonist’s lethal past and her new, sheltered environment.

The character designs by Hiiro Abeno emphasize a blend of traditional fantasy aesthetics and sharp, modern line work, capturing both the grit of the protagonist’s history and the elegance of the noble setting. Upon its release, the volume was received as a solid continuation of the light novel's established tone, garnering attention within the niche circle of readers who prefer character-focused supernatural dramas. Its visual identity remains consistent with the broader MF Books portfolio, which often highlights intricate costume design and expressive, emotive character portraiture.
