Inglorious X-Force #6

Inglorious X-Force was a short-lived, satirical comic book series released in the mid-1990s, characterized by its edgy tone and parody of the hyper-muscular, grim comic book trends prevalent at the time. Issue number 6 served as a conclusion to an experimental arc that pushed the boundaries of the series' metafictional humor, designed to comment on the repetitive nature of superhero team dynamics in the industry during that era.

The series was produced during a period of transition for independent publishers, seeking to capitalize on the speculator boom by adopting an overtly cynical art style. Critics noted that while the illustrative work captured the aggressive aesthetic of the nineties, the narrative often leaned heavily into self-referential irony, which polarized readers who were accustomed to the more earnest storytelling found in mainline superhero titles.
