Where it came from
Justice was a twelve-issue limited series published by DC Comics, launched in 2005. While this issue is labeled as number 24, it is important to note that the primary Justice series concluded with issue #12. This particular issue belongs to the expanded 'Justice' branding that followed the main run, often associated with subsequent miniseries or collected editions that explored the same aesthetic vision.
The series was famously written by Jim Krueger and Alex Ross, with Ross also providing the iconic, hyper-realistic painted covers and character designs. The project was conceived as a tribute to the Silver Age of comics, specifically the Super Friends era, but updated with a modern, darker narrative sensibility. It was widely praised for Ross's meticulous attention to detail and his ability to render classic characters with a sense of tangible weight and cinematic realism.
