Justice League Unlimited #40

Justice League Unlimited issue #40 was published by DC Comics in 2008 as part of an ongoing series designed to bridge the gap between the conclusion of the acclaimed animated television series and the broader DC Universe. The title served as a continuation of the DCAU aesthetic, capturing the voice and tone of the Bruce Timm-led production while allowing for self-contained adventures that utilized the show’s expansive character roster.

This issue was written by Adam Beechen with interior art by Carlo Barberi. The creative team aimed to maintain the accessible, action-oriented style synonymous with the animated series, focusing on concise storytelling that balanced ensemble team dynamics with individual character moments. Like much of the series, it was received as a nostalgic and faithful extension of the cartoon, appealing primarily to fans of the onscreen continuity looking to revisit those character versions.
