K-ON! Shuffle #1

K-ON! Shuffle is a spin-off manga series written and illustrated by Kakifly, the original creator of the K-ON! franchise. Launched in 2018, the series was conceived to expand upon the musical legacy of the original school-band narrative, shifting focus to a new group of students at a different high school who are inspired by the legacy of the Sakura High School Light Music Club. The first issue was serialized in Manga Time Kirara, continuing the author's signature style of blending gentle slice-of-life storytelling with a deep appreciation for musical instruments and performance.

The design and artistic direction of the series maintain the soft, character-driven aesthetic established in the original 2007 run. Kakifly’s approach focuses on the evolving dynamics between the new band members, emphasizing the camaraderie and creative processes typical of the genre. Upon its release, the issue was well-received by fans of the franchise, who appreciated the opportunity to revisit the world of high school music through a fresh lens while observing how the author’s technical draftsmanship had matured over the decade since the original series concluded.
