Kaeru Ie ga Nai Hanzaisha-tachi #1

Kaeru Ie ga Nai Hanzaisha-tachi, or The Frog Who Had No Home: Criminals, was published in the late 20th century as part of the diverse and often experimental landscape of Japanese seinen manga. It emerged during a period where publishers were eager to explore darker, psychological narratives that diverged from mainstream shonen tropes, focusing on gritty urban isolation and the fringes of society.

The series is noted for its unconventional artistic approach, which prioritizes atmospheric tension over traditional character archetypes. The creator utilized stark, expressive linework to emphasize the protagonist's alienation and the grim environments they navigate. While the title occupies a niche position in the historical canon of serialized manga, it is frequently cited by collectors for its distinctive tone and its role in reflecting the anxieties of its contemporary urban setting.
