Kei × Yaku - Gefährliche Partner #5

Kei × Yaku: Dangerous Partners is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Kaori Yuuki, first serialized in the digital magazine Manga Park starting in 2018. The series falls within the boys' love and crime thriller genres, centering on the unlikely alliance between an investigator and a yakuza member. Volume five continues the complex interplay of political intrigue and personal stakes that define the series, maintaining the author's signature focus on psychological tension and intricate character dynamics.

Kaori Yuuki, a prominent figure in the shōjo and josei manga landscape, designed the visual language of the series to contrast the stoicism of the protagonist with the stylistic flair of the criminal underworld. The series was met with positive reception for its departure from traditional tropes in the genre, eventually being adapted into a live-action television drama in 2022. The physical print editions, including volume five, reflect the standard production aesthetics of contemporary Kodansha releases, emphasizing clear line work and atmospheric shading.
