Kidō Senshi Z Gundam: Define #22

Kidō Senshi Z Gundam: Define #22 is a serialized installment of the manga adaptation of the 1985 anime series Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam, written and illustrated by Hiroyuki Kitazume. The series began its run in Gundam Ace in 2011, intended as a re-imagining of the original narrative with updated mechanical designs and expanded character development. Kitazume, who served as an animation director and character designer on the original 1980s television production, brings a deep stylistic familiarity to the manga, maintaining the aesthetic spirit of the source material while adjusting the pacing for a modern print audience.

This specific issue occupies a segment of the series that explores the complex political factions of the Earth Sphere following the One Year War. The manga is noted for its meticulous art style and focus on the internal motivations of the Anti-Earth Union Group and the Titans. Because it serves as a long-running, character-driven retelling, it has been primarily received by the established Gundam fanbase as a respectful, if slower-paced, companion to the classic anime, appreciated for its high-fidelity character illustrations and the technical detail of its mecha sequences.
