Kiyasuku Fureruna Kurobara ni #1

Kiyasuku Fureruna Kurobara ni, serialized in the shojo manga magazine Princess, emerged during the late 1980s as part of the genre's shift toward more dramatic and aesthetically heightened romantic storytelling. This debut issue introduced readers to the series' central themes of longing and social tension, set within the stylized, elegant visual language characteristic of the era's shojo production. The title, which translates roughly to 'Do Not Touch the Black Rose Lightly,' reflects the era's tendency toward poetic and slightly foreboding nomenclature.

The series is noted for its intricate, detailed character designs and ornate panel work, which aim to evoke a sense of refined atmosphere. Created by a mangaka working within the established editorial constraints of Akita Shoten's Princess magazine, the art prioritizes expressive character silhouettes and high-contrast ink work. Upon its release, the first issue was received as a standard entry in the magazine's rotation, appealing to readers who favored the gothic-inflected romantic narratives popular among the readership at the time.
