Koishita Hito wa, Imōto no Kawari ni Shindekure to Itta. - Imōto to Kekkon Shita Kataomoi Aite ga Naze Imasara Watashi no Moto ni? To Omottara #2

This second volume continues the manga adaptation of the light novel series originally written by Etsu Hanamori and illustrated by Yuzuki-no-yoi. The narrative follows the protagonist, who is asked by her long-time crush to marry her sister instead, only to find him reappearing in her life years later under unexpected circumstances. The manga adaptation, illustrated by artist Rei Takiya, was serialized within the digital landscape of Japanese shojo and josei manga publications to capture the emotional complexity and melodrama inherent in the original text.

The aesthetic direction of this series emphasizes the tropes of the 'reunion' subgenre, utilizing delicate linework and expressive character designs to convey the nuanced tension between the leads. As an adaptation, the volume focuses on maintaining the established tone of the source material while utilizing the visual medium to emphasize internal monologues and the shifting dynamics between the characters. It serves as part of a broader trend of light novel adaptations that seek to capitalize on the popularity of complex romantic dramas.
