Where it came from
Kondo Koso Shiawase ni Narimasu!, which translates to This Time, I Will Definitely Be Happy!, is a manga series serialized in Japan starting in 2020. The story centers on the protagonist, Louisa, who finds herself caught in a cycle of reincarnation and betrayal, ultimately deciding to change her fate by seeking a different kind of connection. It belongs to the popular villainess subgenre of isekai manga, reflecting a broader trend in Japanese storytelling that subverts traditional tropes by focusing on characters reclaiming agency after being unjustly cast aside.
The artwork and character designs were illustrated by Akari Kusaka, adapting the original light novel series written by Reiga Kino. The visual style leans into the ornate, elegant aesthetic typical of shojo-demographic light novel adaptations, utilizing delicate linework to convey the protagonist's emotional transformation. Upon its debut, the series was well-received by readers for its empathetic character writing and its grounded approach to themes of self-worth and healing, distinguishing itself from more action-heavy titles in the same genre.
