Kyō mo Curry Desu ka? #1

Kyō mo Curry Desu ka? (Is It Curry Again Today?) is a niche seinen manga series that explores the cultural and culinary significance of curry within the Japanese landscape. The first issue was published as part of a trend in Japanese media focusing on 'meshi-tero' or food-focused narratives that emphasize the sensory and comforting aspects of home cooking, reflecting a post-recession shift toward domesticity and approachable, budget-friendly gourmet experiences.

The illustrations are noted for their detailed, warm-toned renderings of various spice blends and regional curry styles, aiming to evoke a nostalgic and appetizing aesthetic for the reader. Created to celebrate the ubiquitous nature of the dish, the series was received by its core readership as an earnest tribute to curry's versatility, praised for its focus on character dynamics built around shared meals rather than high-stakes competition.
