Kyōiku Gyakutai: Kodomo wo Kowasu 「Kyōiku Nesshin」 na Oyatachi #2

Kyōiku Gyakutai: Kodomo wo Kowasu 「Kyōiku Nesshin」 na Oyatachi, or Educational Abuse: Parents Who 'Care Too Much' About Education, was a niche magazine series published in Japan during the late 1990s and early 2000s. This series emerged as a critical examination of the intense pressures within the Japanese education system, focusing on the psychological impact of parental over-investment and the often blurred lines between high expectations and emotional abuse.

The publication utilized a provocative visual and editorial style characteristic of Japanese social critique magazines of the era, combining investigative reporting with anecdotal accounts to address the social phenomenon of 'education moms' and academic stress. While its subject matter was controversial and deeply polarizing, it served as a reflection of growing public anxiety regarding child development and the mental health crises stemming from the competitive academic landscape in modern Japanese society.
