Lady Mechanika: The Mechanical Menagerie #1

Lady Mechanika: The Mechanical Menagerie #1, released in 2018, serves as a spin-off miniseries within the popular steampunk franchise created by Joe Benitez. The story explores the origin of the titular protagonist's mysterious past, focusing on the dark secrets hidden within a traveling carnival. The series was designed to deepen the lore established in the original Lady Mechanika run, maintaining the signature aesthetic of Victorian-era technology blended with intricate mechanical biology.

Joe Benitez, a veteran comic artist, handled the writing and provided the detailed illustrative style that defines the series. His approach leans heavily into the steampunk genre, emphasizing ornate brass designs and complex gear-work. Upon its release, the issue was well-received by fans of the series for its expansion of the character's backstory and the continued high production quality of the artwork, which remained consistent with the visual standards set by the flagship title.
