Majo ga Kudasu Tettsui Malleus Maleficarum #2

Majo ga Kudasu Tettsui Malleus Maleficarum is a dark fantasy manga series that draws its title and thematic inspiration from the infamous 15th-century witch-hunting manual. Serialized within the landscape of seinen manga, the series explores themes of occult horror, retribution, and moral ambiguity, positioning itself as a gritty examination of folklore through a modern lens. The second volume continues the narrative arc established in the debut, further developing the intricate, high-contrast character designs and atmospheric environments characteristic of the series' aesthetic.

The visual language of the manga is marked by its emphasis on shadow and detailed, evocative line work, intended to immerse the reader in its unsettling world. By leaning into the historical and mythological connotations of its namesake, the work seeks to challenge common tropes of the genre. Upon its release, the volume was noted for its departure from traditional magical girl or fantasy archetypes, finding its niche among readers who appreciate somber, psychologically driven narratives that prioritize visual storytelling over conventional heroic beats.
