Mega Man X #3

Mega Man X #3 was published in 1997 by Archie Comics, serving as part of a short-lived comic book adaptation that sought to translate the popular Capcom video game series into a serialized narrative format. The series emerged during a period when game-to-comic adaptations were common attempts to expand established gaming intellectual properties into new media, aiming to capture the aesthetic and high-stakes action of the Super Nintendo source material for a younger audience.

The creative direction for this series relied heavily on the established visual language of the Maverick Hunters, with illustrations that mirrored the futuristic, robotic character designs iconic to the Mega Man X games. While the series was intended to build depth into the motivations of X and Zero, it received a modest reception, eventually becoming a niche collectible among fans of 1990s video game tie-in media who appreciate its place within the wider, albeit uneven, history of gaming adaptations.
