Megami-sama mo Koi wo Suru #1

Megami-sama mo Koi wo Suru #1 is the inaugural volume of the manga series written and illustrated by Keiko Hiyama. Debuting in the mid-1990s within the shojo manga landscape, the work was conceived during a period when romantic comedy tropes in manga were undergoing a transition, often blending supernatural elements with traditional school-life dynamics to appeal to younger readers seeking lighthearted narratives.

The design of the series centers on the typical aesthetic sensibilities of its era, characterized by expressive character features and soft line work intended to evoke a sense of whimsy. While the series did not achieve the widespread critical acclaim of some of its contemporaries, it remains a recognized example of the specific stylistic trends prevalent in 1990s Japanese girls' comics, serving as a snapshot of the aesthetic preferences and storytelling goals of the time.
