Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #1

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #1 was published by Boom! Studios in early 2016, marking the beginning of an expansive new era for the franchise in comic book form. Launched following the success of a preceding limited series, this ongoing title was designed to modernize the classic 1990s television narrative while maintaining the nostalgic tone of the original series. The publisher aimed to provide a more mature, serialized storytelling experience that explored the complexities of the rangers' lives outside of their battles with Rita Repulsa.

The issue featured a creative team led by writer Kyle Higgins and artist Hendry Prasetya. Their approach sought to ground the heightened action of the series in character-driven drama, focusing on the team dynamic and the psychological toll of their responsibilities. Upon its debut, the series was well-received by fans and critics alike, praised for its sophisticated art style and its ability to treat the source material with genuine reverence while successfully updating the mythos for a contemporary comic-reading audience.
