Mórén Zhēntàn Nǎoniè Nièluó, often known as Demon Detective Neuro, originated as a popular manga series written and illustrated by Yusei Matsui. Serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump starting in 2005, the series was Matsui’s first major work, blending supernatural mystery with dark humor. The narrative follows a demon named Neuro who consumes mysteries to sate his hunger, teaming up with a human high school student to solve cases in the human world.

The seventh issue of the series contributes to the development of the 'Blood' arc, a pivotal section of the story that deepens the exploration of the protagonist's demonic nature and his complex relationship with his assistant. Matsui’s art style, characterized by exaggerated expressions and grotesque visual metaphors for criminal psychology, was widely recognized for its unique departure from the traditional aesthetics of the genre.
