Nami yo Kiite Kure #13

Nami yo Kiite Kure, or Wave, Listen to Me!, was created by Hiroaki Samura and began serialization in Kodansha’s Afternoon magazine in 2014. The series follows the chaotic life of Minare Koda, a protagonist whose drunken rant at a local bar is recorded and subsequently broadcast by a radio station director, launching her unlikely career in the industry. The series is celebrated for its rapid-fire dialogue, intricate character dynamics, and an authentic portrayal of the behind-the-scenes mechanics of Japanese late-night radio.

Volume 13 serves as a later installment in this long-running comedy-drama series. Hiroaki Samura, already renowned for his earlier work on Blade of the Immortal, shifted gears significantly with this series, moving away from period action toward contemporary workplace satire. The art style maintains Samura’s characteristic attention to facial expressions and dynamic panel layouts, which are utilized here to emphasize the frantic, high-energy nature of the protagonist’s radio work and personal struggles.

The reception of the series has remained consistent throughout its run, praised by critics for its unique premise and Samura's sharp, literate writing. Volume 13 continues the established narrative arc, further exploring the professional development of the characters while maintaining the series' trademark blend of absurdity and grounded office humor. It remains a hallmark of modern seinen manga, appealing to readers who appreciate character-driven storytelling over standard genre tropes.
