Natsuaki-kun wa Kyō mo Kokuhaku Shitai #1

Natsuaki-kun wa Kyō mo Kokuhaku Shitai, authored by mangaka Karuki, debuted in the Japanese shōjo magazine Bessatsu Friend. The series fits firmly within the tradition of contemporary romantic comedies, focusing on the persistent and often humorous attempts of the protagonist, Natsuaki, to navigate the complexities of confession and school-age romance. The first volume serves to establish the character dynamic and the lighthearted, earnest tone that defines the series.

The character design and visual execution were crafted to align with the polished, expressive aesthetics typical of modern shōjo manga. Karuki utilized clean line work and expressive character gestures to emphasize the protagonist's emotional volatility and comedic timing. Upon its release, the volume was received as a straightforward, charming addition to the romance genre, noted by readers for its focus on the repetitive but endearing nature of Natsuaki’s quest for love.
