Nihonshi Tantei Conan: Meitantei Conan Rekishi Manga #2

Nihonshi Tantei Conan: Meitantei Conan Rekishi Manga is an educational manga series published by Shogakukan, designed to introduce students to Japanese history through the lens of the popular Detective Conan franchise. The second volume, focusing on the Nara period, was produced as part of a collaborative effort between the publisher and educational consultants to leverage the familiar characters of Shinichi Kudo and his companions to make historical facts more accessible to younger readers.

The design of the series utilizes the established visual style of Gosho Aoyama’s original work, adapted by various artists to maintain consistency with the detective series while integrating accurate historical settings. The series was met with positive reception in Japan, specifically within the domestic education market, where it is frequently utilized as a supplementary learning tool in classrooms to bridge the gap between entertainment and academic study.
