Order #2

Order #2 belongs to the short-lived comic book series Order, published by Marvel Comics in 2002. The series emerged as a direct continuation of the events depicted in the Avengers Disassembled and Kang Dynasty storylines, focusing on the reformed members of the organization known as the Order, who were originally established by the villain Kang the Conqueror. The narrative explores the complex psychological and moral implications of characters who were formerly part of a worldwide conquest movement attempting to integrate into a hero-centric society.

The series was written by Joe Casey and featured illustrations by the artistic team of Michael Ryan and Sean Parsons. The creative vision for the title was to lean into a more grounded, unconventional superhero aesthetic, distancing the narrative from traditional spandex tropes in favor of exploring bureaucratic and sociological themes. While the series was critically recognized for its ambitious, idiosyncratic tone and subversive take on team dynamics, it struggled to find a broad commercial audience and concluded its initial run after six issues.
