Ōtaishi ni Konyaku Haki Sareta Node, Mō Baka no Furi wa Yameyō to Omoimasu #1

This volume marks the debut of the light novel series written by Satsuki Saraki and illustrated by Midori Fuuka. It emerged during the late 2010s, a period marked by the immense popularity of the villainess subgenre within Japanese web fiction. The story was originally serialized on the user-generated content site Shōsetsuka ni Narō before being picked up for formal publication by Frontier Works under their Arianrose label in 2018.

The narrative follows the protagonist, Tieria, who chooses to feign stupidity to avoid political intrigue until her engagement to the Crown Prince is unexpectedly annulled. Midori Fuuka’s character designs lean into the elegant aesthetic typical of the genre, balancing the protagonist's outwardly naive facade with her hidden competence. The series was well-received by fans of courtly romance and fantasy tropes, leading to a successful manga adaptation that further expanded the reach of the original light novel.
