Our Love Story #38

Our Love Story was a romance comic book series published by Marvel during the 1970s, a period when the publisher was expanding its portfolio beyond the dominant superhero genre to capitalize on the enduring popularity of romance titles. Issue number 38, released in 1975, fits within this era of anthology storytelling, which focused on melodramatic narratives centered on heartbreak, courtship, and personal growth. These stories were typically produced by a rotating team of writers and artists who favored the expressive, illustrative styles popularized by the genre's legacy.

The creative direction for this series leaned heavily on the tropes of contemporary romantic fiction, blending traditional sentimentality with the slightly more grounded, realistic artistic sensibilities of the bronze age of comics. While not as iconic as Marvel's superhero properties, Our Love Story was well-regarded by collectors of the genre for its consistent presentation and high-quality cover art. The stories within these issues were designed to be self-contained moral tales, often emphasizing the emotional volatility common to mid-1970s commercial storytelling.
