Pàiduì Kā Kǒngmíng #23

Pàiduì Kā Kǒngmíng, or 'Party Cards Kongming', emerged as part of a trend in collectible card sets produced in China during the early 2000s, often blending historical figures from the Three Kingdoms era with playful, contemporary graphic design. Issue #23 belongs to a series that sought to introduce younger audiences to literary icons through stylized, colorful character illustrations that prioritized accessibility and aesthetic appeal over historical accuracy.

The design of this specific card reflects the mid-2000s fascination with vibrant, high-contrast illustration styles common in sticker and card culture of the time. While the primary illustrator remains uncredited due to the mass-produced, hobby-centric nature of these sets, the series was well-received by regional collectors for its whimsical take on Zhuge Liang, framing the strategist within a lighthearted, social party-themed context that departed significantly from traditional artistic depictions.
